Bloc MPs hit paydirt

Author: 2011/05/17

Figures released by the Canadian Taxpayers Federation show Quebec Bloc MPs are some of the big winners of the pension lottery following Canada's 2011 federal election. Twenty-seven Bloc MPs who were defeated or retired are eligible for pension benefits totaling $39 million provided they live to 80. Bloc Leader Gilles Duceppe's pension will be $140,765 per year. Taxpayers are outraged they are coughing up this kind of money for politicians intent on splitting Canada.
